In the busyness of planning for fall and beyond, I can easily find myself distracted and overwhelmed. I sometimes feel as though I have lost sight of the purpose and meaning of what I do and wonder if we all don't feel that way from time to time. I think the pressures of our secular world, the deadlines, the dates, the commitments and activities leave little room for God, for faith, for church. And each year as the fall approaches, I ask myself. Will they come?
And in my fear, I silently plead with the One who knows all things. The One who was before time and will be after. And I begin to vaguely understand that they will. Not because of anything I do - but because of everything God is. Amen.
